Alum Knights, Gentry,  Adult Alum Knights, and Parents/Community Volunteers

Request to be on the Alumni email list

There is a long tradition  of alum knights and parents/community volunteers returning to the Games in service of this beloved rite of passage.   We are very grateful for the ongoing enthusiasm and support.

We continue to develop the program for alum knights and gentry to have a fulfilling role at the Games.  There are age appropriate tasks for them as well as opportunities for them to take breaks and socialize with their peers.

Alum knights must remember at all times that they are an example to the young squires.  Modeling the virtues and conducting themselves in an upright manner is essential.

GENTRY....There are no available spots for Gentry for the 2026 Games.

Teen volunteers who where not knighted but have a connection to the Waldorf world and would like to support the Games may register as a Gentry, if there are available spots.

Ask about getting your alumni necklace and bead of the year when you arrive at the Games.

Alum Knight & Community Volunteer Email

    September 15, 2025

    Hail All,

Thank  you for your support of the Medieval Games.   Alum knights and community volunteers are an important part of the  ongoing success of the Games.  To better  accommodate the growing number of alum knights who are interested in  returning to the Games to be of service , we continue to develop  this part of the program.   Many details  are listed below.  For more information, please visit  the website.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  We hope to see you at the Games.

    Fare thee well,
    Dame Colleen

    OVERVIEW

    Code of Conduct
Abiding  by the Code of Conduct is essential.  Alum knights are role models to  the young squires and the adults who are new to the Games.  The Code of  Conduct is taken directly from the virtues that the squires study.   The CoC can be found on the website and will be displayed at the event.

    Knights Watch
Knights Watch team are  specifically chosen volunteers who have experience at the Games.  These  adults will coordinate the tasks that the alum knights will be doing.

    The Sorting & Orientation Meetings
Alum knights will be sorted into Circles, much like shires.  There will be 2 orientation meetings on Wednesday afternoon.

    Shifts and Tasks
The expectation of all  volunteers is to work to support the squires and the event.  During the  on shift time, alum knights will be at Knights'  Watch station. There will be a variety of tasks, scheduled and  impromptu, from which the alum knights may choose or be assigned to do.   Once a task is completed,  they must return to the Knights' Watch station to take another  task.

    The Days and Nights
Alum knights are expected to work approximately 8 hours/full day and 4 hours/half  day.  During off shift times, alum knights may relax and socialize at their  dining table or at the Artisan Guild.

    7:00am - 10:00pm   Shifts & Socializing Time

    10:00pm  - 7:00am   Chaperoned Time
Chaperones are responsible for their alum  knights during this time.  Curfew begins at 10:00pm.  Unless assigned to  a specific task or invited by leadership or the Court to participate in a late night activity,  alum  knights  must be  in their quarters between 10:00pm and 7:00am.

    Accommodation
Volunteers  may choose to camp or request a bunk bed in a rustic cabin.  Alum  knights must sleep in the same area as their chaperone.  We have an  alumni designated cabin with multiple rooms.   Knights will be assigned  to a girls’ or boys’ rooms and the chaperone to the womens’ or mens’  rooms within the cabin.  There is also a designated alumni campsite in  the same area.

    Artisan Guild

There is a   designated area for alum knights  to work on period craft projects.  There will be someone to demonstrate how to do the projects and answer  questions.   Alum knights  may bring their own handwork projects, homework, or event  appropriate instruments. Alum knights may also relax and socialize in  this area during  their off shift time.

    Cell Phones
At  the discretion of their chaperone, an alum knight may carry a phone at  the Ranch.  Phones (and any other electronic devices) must be out of  sight of the squires.

    Photo Request
So  that I and the Knights Watch can become familiar in advance with the  alum knights, the registration form includes a request for a photo.  The  photos will be compiled into a photo roster.  Only members of  leadership and the Knights Watch will have access to it.  Participation  in the photo roster is voluntary and highly recommended.
