There is a long tradition of alumni knights and alumni adult volunteers returning to the Games in service of this beloved rite of passage. We are very grateful for the ongoing enthusiasm and support.
We continue to develop the program for knighted alumni to have a fulfilling role at the Games. There are age appropriate tasks for the knights as well as opportunities for them to take breaks and socialize with their alumni peers.
Ask about getting your alumni necklace and bead of the year when you arrive at the Games.
Adult alumni volunteers are a vital part of the success of the Games each year. Many hands make light work. Parent/adult volunteers are encouraged to enjoy some respite when not working a shift. There are not many comfortable places to sit. We encourage everyone to bring a camp chair.
In addition to the regular volunteer tasks, there will also be slots for supervising knighted alumni.
Knighted alumni are welcomed back to the Games. Any knight under 18 years old must must be accompanied by a chaperone. All knights under 18 will be supervised by members of the team or designated adult volunteers when working.
Knights must remember at all times that they are an example to the young squires. Modeling the virtues and conducting themselves in an upright manner is essential.
After the initial serving round at the Feast, the knighted alumni will sit at a place of honor near the Court.
There are a variety of tasks for knights to sign up for. Some examples of the tasks are:
> Setting up the Court's table
> Clearing and refreshing the Court's table
> Setting up the tables for the Feast
> Food prep
> Serving at the buffet line
> Serving at the Feasting Hall
> Replenishing the water dispensers
> Breaking down the recycling
> Assisting on the field
> Assisting with craft projects
> Photographer (must be 16 years or older)
> Etc.

Anyone working on the field or serving in the Feasting Hall must be dressed in costume. Knights are encouraged to dress in costume throughout the event so that they are easily distinguished from the squires.
There are no fashion police and we encourage everyone to be creative and cost effective when choosing their costumes.
Colleen has a lending wardrobe for alumni and kitchen volunteers.
The evenings get cold! Please come prepared with warm layers (long sleeve shirts, leggings, and/or thermals) to wear under costumes. If you have (or can borrow) a cloak, please do so . There are some cloaks in the lending wardrobe.
Laundry facilities are available so that costumes may be washed if need be.
We recommend that you pack the following...
1. Layers. The days are very nice and the evenings are cold.
2. Sleeping bags, pillows, &/or linens for your chosen sleeping accommodations.
3. Towels, bath shoes, & personal bathing supplies if you would like to take advantage of the showers in the bathhouse.
4. A water bottle/cup and a coffee cup/insulated mug. No cups of any kind are provided.
5. A camp chair for relaxing.
6. Costume(s). All knights and volunteers on the field must be in costume. A lending wardrobe is available.
7. Pony tail holders or clips to put your hair up if you will be working in the kitchen.
Volunteers may choose to camp in a designated area, bring an RV (some hook ups are available), or request a bunk bed in a rustic, dormitory style cabin.
For the bunk bed accommodations, each guest must provide their own bedding supplies.
There is a bathhouse with flush toilets and showers . Handicap facilities are available.
The showers are available for adults & volunteers only; towels and personal supplies are not provided.
To make the most of the scenic ranch and your down time between shifts, we recommend that you bring a camp chair to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
In appreciation of your continued commitment to the Games, we have alumni necklaces. For each year of service, we will add a bead. Please check in at the Kitchen to get your necklace and annual bead.
