 Volunteer support is a critical part of the success of each Medieval Games.       A description of the volunteer opportunities at the event is available below.

 NEEDED DONATIONS 


Camp Stoves

Our new site does not have enough stove space to accommodate our crowd.  One more camp stove will guarantee that we have fire power that we need.

We need 4 heavy, metal umbrella stands.  Appearance is not important.

ADULT VOLUNTEER JOBS...there will be a sign up board at the serving patio near the kitchen. Adults are expected to work 8 hours on full days and 4 hours on half days.

TWO TO FOUR CAMP WATCH adults  are required of each school to camp with the students  It is recommended that there be one female and one male adult.  Adults should sleep in their own tents. These adults will also stay with the class when the shire guardians are in meetings with Dame Heidrun and Sir Joseph.   This responsibility is separate from general volunteer work. 


SET UP for volunteers who arrive on Tuesday afternoon or early Wednesday.


CLEAN UP is managed as a whole community effort.  A list and instructions will be provided on site.


 KITCHEN STAFF volunteers work in 4 hour shifts.  Colleen, the event caterer, directs all work and provides detailed instructions.  No specific experience is required.  The majority of volunteer  slots will be working in the kitchen.


LOADING/UNLOADING THE VAN occurs in Tempe on the Tuesday of Games week and Saturday evening.   This opportunity is best suited for Phoenix volunteers.  Contact us for details.


FIRE MASTER will be responsible for the fire in the fire ring.  This volunteer will start, tend, and put out the fires. Fires will be needed in the mornings from 6:30-8am and on some evenings.


TIKI TORCH CREW will set up, light/montior/extinguish, and breakdown the tikis. There are shifts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.


 PHOTOGRAPHER shifts are scheduled throughout the event.  Photographs may be uploaded to  a Google Drive provided by Colleen unless the photographers can provide a gallery link.


BATHROOMS need to be checked once a day., refilling soap and toilet paper as needed, taking out trash and making sure that the bathrooms are functioning properly.
